Am I asking for trouble?

Our DD was a month old yesterday. Whenever she's tired or being really fussy, she likes to comfort nurse... Basically just sucking on my nipple without feeding. Most of the time, I let her because she seems to find a lot of comfort in it and its not doing any harm.

In the back of my mind though, I only have 7 more weeks of maternity leave and obviously when she goes to daycare, they can't hold her for hours letting her suck on them. Am I asking for trouble by spoiling her now?

I hate the idea of not comforting her however she wants, but also hate to think of the shock daycare will be for her.

DD1 would have stayed attached to my boob 24/7 if she could have. It was pretty much the only way she would sleep. She was fine at daycare, but without nursing, didn't sleep much. Also I found that no matter when she last ate at daycare, she wanted to nurse as soon as we got home to reconnect. But basically, she was perfectly fine at daycare without her human pacifier!

Nope, if you're able to let her do it I say let her do it.  She's still brand new, and soooo much can change over the course of 7 weeks when they're this young anyway.

I'm in the same boat with my 7 weeker and with him being our 3rd, I know that no matter what any routine we have at home, everything is different at daycare.  If you're fine with her doing it, let her do it.  She'll figure out other ways to soothe herself at daycare.

Babies act different with their mama's than with others. Your LO comfort sucks with you but will find other ways with other people. You could also try a pacifier for when they go to daycare. Either way keep doing what you're doing.

 Totally this.  Same for naps/sleep too.  My son slept on me/in the moby for basically every nap for his first 4 months - and he did just fine when he went to daycare at 5 months and had to be laid down for sleep.  Sure there was an adjustment period, but he/they figured it out.  Trust your instincts and comfort your daughter however feels right and best for you and her!

My baby comfort nurses too. I let him, but give him a paci too or he'd be on me alllll day!

Thanks ladies. Especially as a FTM, I'm nervous for daycare. Mind you, I really do want to go back to work, but I also don't want to leave my little pumpkin. At least I have a while longer...

You can't spoil baby, it's too young.

Also, your baby can smell you/knows who you are, so it's going to act a little differently with you than with others. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
