Ok... I am at a loss here. My twins just turned 2 this week. We have been living with my parents for the last few months while we found our house which unfortunately meant they stayed in a tiny room in their PAC n plays on opposite sides of the bedroom.
My wonderful inlaws decided to teach them how to use things to 'build' and climb on things...which means for the last month we have been dealing with them using the bottom of their PAC n plays to climb out and play and nt go down for naps. It takes at least an hour and I have to sit in there to make sure they are not in each others or on the bed and actually asleep. I know they still need a nap bc they could sleep for 3 + hours if I let them.
My question... I wanted to put them in toddler beds when we moved but I don't even know how to begin I'm assuming they will do the same thing so I decided I will separate their rooms too at that point.... Good decision? How do I handle/did you handle these transitions?
TIA
....o and I have an almost 5 month (10 week premature) infant too so sitting in their room for over an hour is not so practical..
Re: Nap time is ridiculous... :/
I switched dd to a toddler bed at 17 months. I put her in her room for nap and I gate her door.
At first she would get up and play and a few times fell asleep on her bean bag. Now she stays in bed and actually sleeps. I tried not to make it a fight everyday.
We are still working on bedtime. For some reason she wants me to lay with her.
The gate has been great.
