I really don't post on here often so I do hope all of you are doing well.
We transitioned DD's crib to a toddler bed a month ago and the transition went smoothly. With baby #2 due in May we are going to reuse DD's crib and buy her a new bed. And we would ideally like to do this soon so that she doesn't feel she is losing her bed to the baby.
Just curious what everyones thoughts are on toddler beds vs big kid bed with rails? I'm just trying to decide if it is worth the investment in a toddler bed only for her to grow out of it in the next couple years.
Re: Toddler bed options
He's also a wiggly sleeper, so I don't think the toddler bed will be enough room for long.
I moved DS 1 from his crib to a twin bed at 22 months. I had his bed pushed to the wall tightly with the other side open. He never fell out once and transitioned awesome!
Dylan will be in a twin bed by 2 years as well. I think the main thing is to make the transition as much fun for them as you can.
Good luck.
We are planning on putting a toddler bed up in May (new baby due end of July). The crib will still be in his room, because they will be room sharing. Hoping it will go OK!
I would buy a twin, but due to room sharing and lack of space, I don't want it to be too crammed. If I did buy a twin, I would put it up against a wall like OP said.
