Hi,
My DH and I have been talking about baby names lately. We have mostly been talking about girls names. We are down to two names.
1. Charlotte Elizabeth Rae (nickname Charlie or Charley) 2. Allie Elizabeth Rae
We have a son with two middle names, so we want to stay with that tradition. He has his dad's name and great grandpa's name as his middle name. So we decided that our daughter would have my name as her middle name. We can't decide and absolutely adore both names. Your opinion is much welcome.
Thanks.
Re: Two baby girl names...can't decide
ETA: I HATE Charlie as a nickname, though. I missed that the first time. If you are set on using that as a nickname, then I vote Allie, even if seems more like a nickname than a first name to me.
Exactly this.

This, if you are set on Allie I would go with Allison and use Allie as a nn.
I love the name Charlotte but dislike Charlie as a nickname. (Thankfully my Charlotte will correct anyone who tries to call her a nickname.)
I like Allie a lot too, and I like the flow of it better with your middle names.
Charlotte Ella 07.16.10
Emmeline Grace 03.27.13
I like Charlotte, but don't like the nn Charlie for a girl.
Allie is a nn, not a complete fn in my opinion.
Elizabeth is fantastic!
Really HATE Rae. I associate Ray with prisoners or trashy guys because it seems popular in those groups. It's also masculine. The 'e' on the end doesn't make it more feminine. I also think of it as a filler mn. You don't need it. Charlotte Elizabeth is beautiful. If you have to have another mn, I'd keep looking.
I totally second this!
Rae is my middle name. Laurie Rae. I love the name Elizabeth too and that is why I wanted it as a middle name too. Thank you for your thoughts. : )
All of this.
You are right. I am not a big fan of Allison, so what about Alaina and then call her Allie. Not sure though.
This! I love Allison with nn Allie, but not crazy about nn as formal name. I love Charlotte, but hate nn Charlie/Charley for a girl. But I would still have to vote Allie over Charlie/Charley.
Just saw this. I think any name beginning with "Al" could be shortened to Allie as a nn. Alaina is pretty, though I prefer Elena. GL!
I actually prefer Allie, but only as a nickname. Charlotte is very pretty but I hear it everywhere.
Allison Elizabeth Rae
Alice Elizabeth Rae (I really like this one)

Charlotte is cute!
Ali sounds like a nn for Alexandra perhaps?
I'm not in favor of the double mn thing. GL!

Agreed. Lottie is a much better nn, although I don't think Charlotte really needs one. It is such a pretty name as is.
I'm so sorry about your losses.
My pick would be Charlotte. Allie is cute and friendly, but I tend to prefer a more formal sounding first name on the birth certificate. Would you consider Allison Elizabeth Rae or Alice Elizabeth Rae with the nickname of Allie?
Either name is lovely, though, so I don't think you can go wrong.
Good luck!
