I know this is a completely personal decision kust wondering what others do...I was going to completely avoid alcohol this time during the 2WW, with it being our first IuI I feel all the more invested in the process, etc. with my DS however I drank in that period and even after I was pregnant and didnt know for about a week...I have a work dinner Tuesday night and a colleague and I are supposed to Fodor drinks first and I just don't know how to explain not drinking! I will be 10dpIUI at that point so likely too early to get an accurate test...was going to have one beer but then I get paranoid that affects ln plantation! What do others do/think?
Re: Alcohol in 2WW?
As you say, it's a personal decision, but not being a big drinker to begin with, I don't drink at all beginning with stims or even BFP (just depends if there is a social situation that far back that I'd want a glass of wine for). Because I'm not a big drinker, it doesn't even register with friends if I don't drink. I even had a girlfriend mention back in December that it'll be hard to know when I'm pregnant because I rarely drink, so it won't be the giveaway that it was with a friend who got pregnant a coupe months ahead of me this time (they still don't know I'm KU yet).
That being said, drink if you want, and if you prefer not to, there's the old standby of antibiotics, or, since it's still January, cutting back for a bit to lose weight/get healthy, or be the one to grab the drinks at the bar (if possible to sit away from it) and substitute something non-alcoholic in the cocktail-size glass.
Hope that helps.

It's really all about your comfort level. Problem is, if you enjoy a drink once in awhile and you give it up for every TWW, it gets really old once you have been TTC for 1 year ++ We worry about what we eat, what we drink, if we dye our hair, avoiding artificial sweetners, etc. It's hard to constantly beat yourself up!
Many women who are not actively TTC / not suffering from IF drink as usual during and beyond the TWW, at least until it occurs to them that AF is late. Unless a person is drinking heavily, I doubt it makes any difference.
That being said, for treatment cycles, I do not drink in the TWW. Before IVF, I do a cleansing diet starting w/ stims, and would only consider a glass of wine for a very special occasion, then nothing in TWW.

I go back and forth but I really do not think it makes a difference. I do not drink that much since having DD but I do like to have an occasional glass of white wine.
The cycle I got pregnant with DD I was drinking. I remember the night after I triggered being at a bar with friends and drinking a little too much. This was my first treatment cycle and I did not know much about IF then. I had never even thought to not drink. I did drink through the 2WW and have a beautiful healthy DD. For the past 13 months while TTC I have drank in the 2WW and have not the end result was a m/c or BFN. I never got drunk or anything.
I have thought about this alot with other things . I eat a healthy diet and never use or put anything artifical in my food, I don't drink soda or caffeine. I honeslty don't think it matters so I am in the drink til it's pink category although I don't always drink during the 2WW.

Lurking...
My 5 year anniversary was about 7 days post-iui on the cycle I had my BFP. I had one drink. I tested that day and it was negative.
I got a super light line on a wondfo and FRER on 9 days post-iui so you might test early just in case.
