Stroller question

We have a decent jogger we take with us about everywhere, but it takes up a lot of space when traveling. We have a very cheap umbrella stroller. I'm debating whether it would be worth it to buy a better lightweight, because our umbrella stroller sucks. She also hates sitting in it. With her age and possibly the only user considered, should we get something better? Also, recommendations? We do plan to travel this summer too.

Re: Stroller question

  • I should also add we're fairly tall. Some of the lightweights aren't fun to stroll when they are so low.

  • I have a Joovy Kooper and really love it! It's not too low to the ground so it will last Rosie another year and a half easily (she is 34" tall and 30 pounds). It has a nice little basket under it, water bottle holders, reclines, has an amazing sun shade, and folds up easily and small. Another option (which we chose not to get cuz it didn't go on sale when we purchased) is the Baby Jogger City Mini. Which is similar in ride and function as the Kooper, but can have the extra attachments for another baby (like a car seat bar, ect.). I love our little stroller.

Thank you! I will look into these. DH doesn't think we need another one, but with us traveling soon, I can't imagine using our umbrella to get around.

  • I've never used it but I've heard some Targets have the Baby Jogger City Micro on clearance for 75 bucks this week. Normally its 200.
  • If it's possible, I don't take a stroller when traveling.  I used my sling for Dylan the past 2 summers, even after she turned 2.  I rent a stroller at the zoo or somewhere like that.
  • Fussing at the stroller is an age thing. When we went to down size our strollers, I looked at a few. I prefer wheels bigger than umbrella wheels. I looked at the Versa, The Cruz, the Urbo/Sola (love! And great for tall kids and tall parents), the Smart and the Dot. I had considered the City Mini GT and the B Agile, it just wasn't for me, and dh didn't like the looks.

We ended up with the Smart, I really like it. If I went back, I'd get the Urbo or Sola in a heartbeat.

  • We got our Maclaren when DS was about 6 months. I like it because it is as small as an umbrella stroller, but it tilts back farther for when the fall asleep and it is taller than a cheap umbrella one. I got it on clearance from BRU
