Sorry it's late, I was at a friends baby shower today!!

Let's poll the board on a discussion I had at my friends shower today.
What are your future baby/family plans? How many kids do you want? Are you done, if so how many do you have?

DD was our first and everybody assumes if we have a boy next we'll be done; so not the case. I want 3 kids and DH wants 4-5 (so he says now lol) so we'll probably meet somewhere at 3-4. I don't care how many girls/boys I have but I think it would be fun to have some of each but really I'd be happy even if we had all of one sex. I want to wait until DD is out of diapers before we start trying, probably keep a 2-3 year gap between kids. 2 under 2 isn't for me I don't think lol. BUT DH is going back to university this fall so with that being a 4 year program with him being away for it, we'll see where that puts us when the time comes.

I'd like at least one more, and I think DH wants two more, so 2-3 total depending on who wins that discussion!  I'd love to get pregnant now, but financially things are really tight with one LO and it's not fair to her to have to struggle so much.  We'll wait a little while and see if things ease up a bit, and then go from there.  At some point we'll just do it, though, because if we wait until we're ready we'll never have another one, ha ha ha!

Since I'm 39 and Sophia is our first, I was figuring that one would be all. I completely want to have a second. Our finances are extremely tight and have a two bedroom bungalow so we will have to see what the next year or so brings.

We are done having kids I had the esure done blocking my tubes! We have three boys 8 years, 2 year and lo who is 8.5 months.

I always thought I'd have two kids and always wanted a girl but I love my boys!!

Sometimes I think that we might be one and done.  But not that DS is 8 months and so incredibly fun and much easier, we will probably have one more.  After DS is 2.  I don't think that I would like them so close together. And I really want my DH to have a job where he doesn't work until 11pm before we have a second.

We have 4. Two boys 12, and 10. Two girls 2, and 8 months. I was not sure I was done after Emma so I got on the depo shot and now we have surprise number 5 coming in August. I am done after this one and plan in getting my tubes tied.

Years ago we both agreed to 2 but as I got older we decided on 1.  I had DS when I was 37 and we've started talking about having 2 again.  I know we aren't ready for another right now (well DH isn't ready) but hopefully we'll have our second before I'm 40.  If not, then we'll probably just have 1. I know there are plenty of people having babies over 40.

Right now my girls are 3 years and 8.5 months. I've always pictured my life with 3 kids. DH is ok with being done, but will sometimes mention having a third. He is from a family of three children, and I do understand his concerns. For example, what if all three had an activity/sporting event at the same time...one would always be left without a parent there.

If we did, we'd probably aim for about 2 years from now. Our first, was born while he was in med school, and our second at the end of his first year of residency. He has missed a lot. I'm hoping once he is working his real job that he'll want another since he will be able to be around more.

We will ttc for #2 when lo turns 2. DH and I are both from families of 3 kids. I've always thought we'd have 3 and DH now is talking 2. So we'll see in a few years...

I have a 14yo DS from a previous relationship and an 8mo DD with MH, which is his 1st. He and I always figured we would only have 1 together but now he's already talking about 2. I'm okay with one more but not right away. Maybe when DD is 2? I was able to take almost 8 months off to care for DD and I want to be able to do that again. So I need to make sure I have everything in order before TTC.

DH and I are happy with whatever sex we are blessed with but with that being said we are split between 23 total. So if we have a boy next we will probably be done but if we have another girl we will probably go for three. Even if we have 3 girls we will be done and very happy and blessed!! We are waiting to ttc until DD is at least 2 probably closer to 3.

We thought we wanted 2 or 3 before we had DS. He's so high needs that I'm honestly afraid of having another child like him. Everyone keeps saying that he's only 8 months and once he's older I'll change my mind. But I don't think I'll forget over 8 months of sleep deprived torture any time soon.

We have 2 boys now. We want 3 or 4. We won't be trying for #3 anytime soon though. We will be moving in a 1.5 years and I don't want to have a newborn or be pregnant during all of that.

I was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve at age 36 after TTC for several years with only one pregnancy that ended in miscarriage.  We were told that, based on that state of my ovaries and poor egg quality, we had less than a 5% chance of having a successful pregnancy without medical intervention.  We hit the jackpot, I guess, and got pregnant with Baby ELF on our last cycle trying on our own before we were scheduled to do IVF. 

We are pretty happy with our little miracle baby and don't want to spend (potentially) years and all of our savings in pursuit of another, so we are one and done.   DH is going to have a vasectomy so we don't end up with an accidental pregnancy at some point in the future, since there is an extremely high likelihood of any future pregnancies resulting in miscarriage as the result of my egg quality issues.

I always thought that we would have two, and that would be it. But, I still really would like to try for one more in a few years. Some days it seems like DH will go for it and other days not so much. I think that in a few years once the boys are a little bit older, he will go for one more. Right now I'm happy as a family of four!
