Rolling over at night/naps

We were finally getting somewhere with sleep training however DD has just perfected rolling over both ways, which means she now cries every time she flips on her tummy. Do you guys flip them back over or let them CIO?

Re: Rolling over at night/naps

  • If she rolls onto her belly to sleep I leave her there. She prefers to sleep like that. She went through a phase when she 1st learned to roll where she would roll on her stomach and get upset and scream. She knew how to roll back but wouldn't. It was really annoying but kept rolling her back cause she would get so upset.

  • DS prefers now to sleep on his belly (to the point where he doesn't get in as deep a sleep on his back and DH and I want him to roll over when we watch the video monitor).  So, no, we never roll him back over.

  • I used to, but I stopped when we did SleepEasy around 6 months. Like PP said, he could roll back over but he wouldn't. He got used to sleeping on his belly and now flips over just about the moment we lay him down. His biggest frustration with rolling over was that he would often lose his paci in the process, but he's figured out how to hang onto it better and can put it back on his own if he drops it.
