Miserable! -Vent

I'm going crazy. For several weeks I have had all day sickness and now for the past couple of days I have major back pain. And then to top it off I have gas cramps and I can't stop passing gas. Oh my poor husband. ha. I just feel miserable and I don't recall my back hurting so early in pregnancy last time. Maybe it's unrelated? I don't know but it sucks! Being a good mommy to my toddler hasn't been easy. I feel like a bad mommy because i'm laying on the couch just watching her play and playing with her while laying down when she brings me toys. I'm really trying but i'm sick anytime I sit up now and nothing is helping anymore. :( Okay... vent over.

  • Vent away!

I am right there with you. I have hypermesis gravidum, and so I spend the majority of my time on the couch. I feel like the worlds worst mom and wife. I just can't do anything! And I might need to go back to the er and get rehydrated again, which is really a pita.

I had an us this week, and they moved my due date up to aug 10. Which means I am 12 weeks and so over this now. Can't the morning sickness be over already?

  • Maybe you have the flu?  I have been feeling extremely tired and my back has been achy with chills and extreme fatigue (along with all day sickness, too). At first I thought it was just pregnancy symptoms, but I am thinking I have a mild case of the flu?? Either way, I wouldn't feel bad about laying down... you have to take care of yourself!

  • I was feeling super crappy today.  And last night.  And, come to think of it, every night this past week.  I actually laid down and took a nap when DS was sleeping this afternoon- for 3.5 hours.  I actually think I do have something else- a cold perhaps, because I was exhausted.  Luckily though, DH supported me, and let me sleep, and took care of DS when he woke.  I only seem to need to nap when I'm pregnant, but I only remember giving in much later in pregnancy, like after 20 weeks last time.  That's why I'm pretty sure I'm also sick.  I NEVER nap.  Too much to do, but a 3.5 hour nap felt glorious today.  Try to sleep, mama!  This too shall pass.

  • I'm sorry you aren't doing so well! The only suggestion I have is maybe seeing a good Chiro for your back. I started at 9 weeks for some low back/hip pain seeing a Chiro that specialized in pregnancy and infants. I can't tell you how much better I'm feeling. Totally worth it, its not necessary to suffer with back pain!!!
  • A little suggestion that might help with the back pain: try sleeping with a small pillow between your knees when you lay on your side.  I am about 8 weeks along and have had lower back pain since I found out I was pg a month ago. I have scoliosis so my back hurts normally but this was all day pain. Last week it got more intense and hurt whenever I moved. I couldn't lean over, cough, stand or sit for long without alot of pain. I have been sleeping with my little pillow for about 4 days now and my back feels better! Not 100% because its still slightly sore but I can move like a normal person now. I have no tips for the sickness but hope you feel better soon.
