She may be a late bloomer, but she finally rolled over!

She may be a late bloomer, but she finally rolled over!

After asking at her 4 month appointment this week how we could ever get DD to roll over if she hated being on her stomach, and being told to not push it, the doctor was proven right. During a diaper change today she was wiggling around happily and I thought, ok let's try tummy time. She wiggled a bit, and I called DH over excitedly, and we both got to witness her roll over the first time (to our knowledge) from stomach to back :)

I feel like back to stomach will come soon as she is already rolling to her side from her back pretty frequently.

I feel such relief, hahaha. She is going to make it after all! Better late than never!

ETA: For mobile people DD is 19 weeks old today, but just under 4 months adjusted.

  • That's great!  My DD hasn't done it yet but I'm assuming soon! She's trying to sit up though...they're growing up so fast!

  • That's great! DS still hates being on his belly and won't roll over. I just figure it will happen when he decides he wants it too! So that's great to hear your LO did it on their own also!

Yeah since about 12 weeks old she just wailed and stuck her hand in her mouth whenever placed on her stomach, so this definitely was a change.

Of course once she rolled over a single time she reverted to the aforementioned behavior :)

Audrey tries harder from back to front than front to back now. She'll get to her side but then just stops and hangs out like that. What a weirdo.

Haha!  Stella has been rolling over to her side since she was about a week old but then she stops.  She has never finished rolling over to her stomach.  I guess she's a side sleeper like her momma :)

  • L is 19 weeks too but was born 3 weeks early, he still hasn't rolled, he's getting better with tummy time too... our doc said he's still too young to roll when we asked so i'm good with it, plus we swaddle still.
