Introducing food

At this point, are you still using the 3-7 day rule of introducing everything or are you saying...meh, what the hell and go for it?

Re: Introducing food

  • Since we did BLW, we never really followed that rule. I would say, if you haven't noticed any reactions, then I would just go for it. If you're introducing table food, then it's far more complicated to plan out table food than it is just to let LO have whatever you're having. That is, unless you plan to eat the same meal every day for a week at a time, like the week that DH bought us a 5lb boneless ham.

  • We didn't do a great job following that rule. I tried to do one food at a time, but it didn't always work out well.

bwwhahahaha  I totally do this.  The only thing we really did a wait for was seafood and eggs.  But fruits and veggies were all fair game.

  • Nate is just now getting teeth, so I feel like we are so far behind in the food department. We don't follow the 3-7 day rule, and we have done eggs already. We just do everything in teeny, tiny, itty bitty pieces. He won't eat baby food anymore. Stinker.

  • No teeth here! So we haven't done too much with meats. But for veggies, fruits, dairy we did about 4 days between new foods. I did notice that yogurt made her poop more... but she was also on Amoxicilin and was sick... so I guess I don't really know!

  • C is just now cutting his first tooth but we have introduced a whole lot of stuff. Today he had blueberry pancakes and yogurt for breakfast. He will have meatballs and pasta for lunch. Like a PP said, I just cut them up into pieces and he has been okay with pretty much everything. I make sure the food is soft and he loves it! Oh, but to answer your question, we never really waited the 3-7 days in between and so far so good.

  • I gave up on it a while ago. DD never had any bad reactions to anything so I decided to take my chances.
