No swaddle, no sleep sack?

So....does anyone just put their baby down in the crib to sleep without a swaddle and without a sleep sack? Am I the only one?

  • She hates both. She was swaddled on the hospital and that's it. She sleeps awesome.

  • We stopped swaddling around 4 weeks old, she just didn't like it. But we do put her in a sleep sack every night. She's a good sleeper.

My LO hasn't been swaddled since his first week home, when DH went back to work (he was better at it than me).

LO has always enjoyed sleeping with his hands above his head (imagine the "stick 'em up" arrest pose).

I don't think swaddling would make a difference [for us]. Usually I lay him down, sometimes I have to go in there once or twice, sometimes not even that.

  • Ok, good - I thought I was alone. We did swaddle her for the first 1st month or so, but she would always jailbreak so I thought it was more pain than it was worth. However, the other night my DH tried to swaddle her (she's now 4.5 months old) and it was hilarious. She was SO pissed off. I was like "honey - what are you doing? That doesn't work anymore." hahah, so funny. The second he took her out of it, she stopped raging.

  • We quit swaddling when he was a month old and no sleep sack since about 2 months. If we put him in anything heavier than a footie sleeper he wakes up a sweaty mess

  • We havent swaddled in weeks. We will occasionally put her in a fleece sack if it gets super cold outside. Her PnP is near the stupid drafty window so it gets a bit chilly for her overnight.

  • Neither because our apartment is 80 degrees WITHOUT the heat on. Sometimes she gets so annoyed with the heat I have to let her go in just her diapy for a while. There is one other apartment in the building, theyre under us and I have no idea how hot they have their heat to make our apartment so hot but sometimes it gets really annoying.

  • I rarely swaddle, only when he doesn't fall asleep on his own for his afternoon nap. I do put him in a sleep sack for nighttime. We heat with a wood burner and towards the early morning it can get pretty chilly, esp in his room since its furthest away from wood burner.
