It is 6 oz. Its the same as if you take a bowl.of water and.put your hands in the water will rise because the volume increases. It doesnt change the amount of water in there.
DH and I had an argument about this when DS was a newborn. He insisted that it became 9 oz when we added the powder to 8 oz of water. The only way to increase the fluid oz is to add more water. Because you are adding powder it thickens and increases the volume inside the bottle but the fluid oz stays the same.
I just wondered because when I am home with ds on the weekend I normally keep track of his ozs. Just to check how much he is eating. He is not a good bottle drinker. It's a struggle to get 20oz in him a day.
