Holy fluck. I am embarrassed by the way everyone is behaving in this thread. To the original poster, if you seriosuly wanted to know why she doesn't vaccinate her children then it should have been in a pm.

Instead there's just been multiple attacks. Actual attacks with hurtful words. I am STRONGLY in favor of vaccinations, but I would never ever, through the safe and anonymous internet or in person, berate and belittle someone like you guys have.

Do you all honestly think you're going to change her mind? Do you think your snarks and quips are going to make her think "oh okay I see now." Absolutely not. Instead it's just been a free-for-all. Go ahead and pat yourselves on the back for being bullies, ladies. You've done a fine job.

I realize I am relatively new to this board but I have to thank you for your intelligent opinion on this matter.

 I am also personally in favor of vaccinations but the idea of berating a person in such a non-productive and childish manner embarrasses me to even think about it. I am sorely disappointed to see that there are people on this board that are so quick to be just plain rude. If you really want to help this women see things the way you believe they should be you're certainly not going to accomplish that by calling her names. Offering educated and pertinent information would be so much more effective. I am in no way advocating for not vaccinating children (and agree that I would never intentionally let my children play with a non-vaccinated child) but I don't believe that being nasty on an internet message board is the way to solve this health crisis.

Aside - I am also in Bloomington and knowing what I know about her I am in no way surprised that Candlind is also. This community is amazing and really fosters choices towards a more "natural" lifestyle. This serves me very well most of the time but obviously that also means that it opens up the likelihood of non-vaccinated children being around.
