Since going back to work and pumping I have started reading more (on my kindle). I also read while nursing DD at bedtime. It's been a nice feeling of me time even if I am multi-tasking. In the past 3 weeks or so I've read "Gone Girl", "Why Me?" (Nonfiction book about a woman abused by her mother) and Jodi Picoult's "The Pact". Does anyone have any recommendations for good books you've read or books on your to-read list? Thanks!
Re: NBR - read any good books?
The last book I read that I really enjoyed was A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. I'm not really into vampire books, but I enjoyed this one because it had some history and genetics stuff that I found interesting.
Also recommend Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See, Jewel by Bret Lott, The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein, and A Dog's Purpose by Bruce Cameron.
I read Gone Girl too...I threw it on the floor at the end. It was a great book and I give her props for not writing a typical ending.
I'm now reading Water for Elephants.
I loved Night Circus. Slow in the beginning but one of my all time favs now.
I tried to read this book, I really did. I couldn't finish it. I just didn't get it.
I finished Ready Player One which was quite good. I am working on my non-fiction The Emperor of Maladies and it is a LONG book but good. Have you read The Fault in Our Stars by John Green? Awesome, awesome read. Time magazine ranked it the #1 read of 2012 and I agree with it.
I also really liked The Book of Lost Things, Garden Spells, and any books by Markus Zusak and Bill Bryson.
