I think the lifting etc is just based on your comfort level.
I don't remember what they said the weight limit was, but I remember with DD they told me her plus the carrier was too heavy for the first week or two.

Meh. :-( One of the reasons I am hoping for a VBAC was that I thought the lifting restrictions afterwards are less strict than after a c/s. I'm home with DD and will have to lift her to get her into and out of her crib and her high chair. She weighs a bit over 20 lbs. Boo.
BFP1: DD1 born April 2011 at 34w1d via unplanned c/s due to HELLP, DVT 1 week PP
BFP2: 3/18/12, blighted ovum, natural m/c @ 7w4d BFP3: DD2 born Feb 2013 at 38w4d via unplanned RCS due to uterine dehiscence
After my VBAC I was told to listen to my body and not to carry my 22 month old far. So I could lift her onto the changing table or into the car, but not walk while carrying her a distance. I don't remember any restrictions on driving, but I was living in Manhattan at the time so I wasn't driving right away anyway.
They basically said not to overdo it and to listen to my body. This is the #1 reason I'm fighting really hard for a VBAC again this time. There's no way I have time to stop my life for a c-section recovery after over a month of bedrest. I'm getting so antsy to get back to my routine.

I did too, until my sil mentioned not being able to lift her 11 month old DD when her 2nd was born.
My midwives tell me that once my bleeding stops I can have sex whenever I feel ready. They do not want me lifting anything heavier than the baby for the first three weeks (impossible in my house). That's it.
Only restrictions were not taking a bath or having sex until bleeding stopped. Also they did not recommend I start running for at least 6-8 weeks and said wait till follow up visit. But I was out walking daily 5K after about 10 days, and no lifting or driving restrictions.
wow I've never heard the don't take a bath... my MWs actually encourage me to take short ones with an addition of herb water that you brew to help healing... DS even bathed with me
