LO had his nine month check up yesterday and our pedi told us he is officially off the growth chart for height!! LO has been hanging around the 90-95% but now he's surpassed that at, 30 3/4in. All I could do is laugh DH & I are both tall so somehow I just knew we'd make a tall kid!
Re: Aw! Off the growth chart
wow! Crazy!
we don't have our 9 month till Feb 7th... but we were in on Wednesday, and was weighed (but didn't get a height) and we are in the 2% for weight... he still only weighs 15.10
how much does your LO weigh?
He's 75% for weight 21lb 5oz
LO was born at 35wks he was so skinny and had SO much loose skin when he was born. It's just amazing to look back, he is far from that skinny little baby we took home from the hospital
Big boy! DH and I are tall as well so it is no suprise that lo is tall too but somehow, we still get so excited! Infact, lo is the same height that DH was at 8 months (I have his immunization card).
My boy is 30 inches, 20lbs 12 oz, and I dont remember the head but it was exactly at the 50%. (this was the 14th)
When my LO was at 15-20% for weight our pedi almost made me feel bad saying he doesn't want to see his weight drop any and if it does we may have to think about supplementing, now I bf LO so of course this made me feel like I was starving my kid! However I never did end up supplementing and he's perfectly fine I think LO just had a slow start due to coming a little early.
Does your pedi put any sort of "pressure" on you because LO is 2% for weight?
Honestly sometimes they look to much into the books instead of looking at the healthy thriving baby in front of them and in turn make you feel like crap about it..
It's just hard not to!!
no... they really don't say anything to me about it, I read it on the print out summary from each visit...
I have brought it up to them a couple of times though, they really look at how each individual baby is, and him, he isn't malnourished by any means, honestly, he's got a gut on him lol, and he has slight rolls in his thighs. They aren't too concerned about him being in the 2% since he looks/acts totally fine.
That's good! Yea every baby grows at their own growth curve, was just curious. I know for my niece she was hanging around 5% for a really long time and her pedi's advice to my sister was to put butter in everything she ate to help her gain weight..
(I mean how healthy can that be!? great advice right??) Thanks but no thanks!
