DS will be coming home on Saturday! H and I live about an hour and a half from the hospital in another state so we will be staying with family for a few days after DS comes home. We have everything ready for him at home, but I am packing a bag for him that will have everything he needs. So I was wondering what your must haves were those first few days home? Anything special I should take, or just pack a regular diaper bag? TIA

Bottles, formula, boppy (if you plan to nurse), butt cream, hand sanitizer (for all the adults). Congratulations!
You'll probably get this from the hospital but I didn't! A booger sucker, random and probably doesn't seem important! When I brought dd home from the NICU they didn't give me one and I never bought one thinking I'd get one from the hospital. The second night she was home, she had boogers in the middle of the night at about 3 am. There are no 24 hour stores around us and she literally could not breathe. She kept gasping for air and it was SO scary. We ended up bringing her in the bathroom, turning the shower on hothothot and letting the bathroom steam up to get rid of them. It was so scary having this little 3 lb 15 ounce baby after she lost the weight in the NICU and her not being able to breathe! Plus im a first time mom. Ah, horrible.
