Mom's of other 7 month olds (or if you remember - because I clearly can't)
- Have you started meats (if you're not vegitarian)?
- Have you started yogurt (the Yo Baby canister says 6 months+, Ive been holding off because DS has bronchitis)?
Is your baby eating 3x a day? - (LO is waking up at night to eat again - he's HUGE 20lbs at 6 month appt)
How many bottles is LO getting? (I EBF, but he is still eating 6-7X a day - my daughter was down to 5 at this point)
Re: 7 month feeding ?'s
Mine is 7 months today!
)
-We are planning on starting with shredded chicken this weekend. He's chewing his Mum-Mum wafers and homemade sweet potato sticks very well, so I think he's ready to handle chicken.
-Haven't started yogurt - not sure when we will.
-He's eating solid food 2x a day. We'll bump it up around 8-9 months
-He is nursing/getting a bottle 5-6 times, sometimes 7 times a day. I don't produce a lot of milk, so if I'm home and only nursing, I feed him 7 times to make sure he's getting enough. Otherwise, I'll feed him and supplement afterwards with a 2 oz bottle.
Hope this helps!
) I know that every baby is different, so if he's different than his big sister it's fine. Sounds like you're doing a great job, mama!
)
I have given DS some shredded chicken, and steak
He has had the Gerber yogurt
Right now DS gets lunch and dinner (I haven't worked out a schedule for breakfast in the morning yet - not enough time. Probably soon (in the next month or 2) just send some to daycare and let them give him breakfast.
He gets about 6 or 7 bottles a day with about 6.5 ozs in each and 1 bottle with about 4 or 5 ozs
DS is a big boy and LOVES to eat - he screams at us when he sees us eating - even if he just ate himself!
1. Yea, we started meats a while ago. She just eats table food mostly so gets whatever we are eating.
2. We haven't started yogurt but that's just because I haven't bought any. I'm not against yogurt though.
3. Yes, 3 times a day.
4. She gets 3-4 six ounce bottles a day. She'll usually drink 4-6 ounces at night.
My LO was 21 lbs at 6 months and the doctor said to start 3 meals a day. Since 6 months we do 3 meals, but all purees (4 oz at each meals). We have not introduced dairy or meat yet, but plan to at 9 months.
HIs schedule since 7 months has been as follows:
6:45- wake up
7:30- 6 oz bottle
8:30- meal
10:00- 6 oz bottle
10:00-11:00nap
12:00- meal
1:00- 6 oz bottle
1:00- 2:00 nap
3:00- 6 oz bottle
5:00- meal
6:00- 6 oz bottle
8:00 - 9 oz bottle and bed time
- Have you started meats (if you're not vegitarian)? We've done fish so far in terms of meat. DD has had salmon and cod. meanwhile, I think we started DS on meat at 8 months and his first was chicken.
- Have you started yogurt (the Yo Baby canister says 6 months+, Ive been holding off because DS has bronchitis)? We tried plain full fat Greek yogurt. DD didn't like it,but DS loves it and always has.
Is your baby eating 3x a day? - (LO is waking up at night to eat again - he's HUGE 20lbs at 6 month appt) DD has 5tbs cereal and a 5-6oz bottle for breakfast, though she doesn't always drink it all and I've also been adding in 3-4oz fruit puree rather than using formula for her cereal. Lunch is another 4oz puree and a 4oz bottle, she gets a "snack" bottle 5-6oz, then 4oz for dinner puree and bottle and then a final 8-9oz night-night bottle before bed. She sleeps 10-12hrs at night. She has also been doing a 3+hr nap in the afternoon.( BTW DD was 18lb 12oz at 6m appointment)
How many bottles is LO getting? (I EBF, but he is still eating 6-7X a day - my daughter was down to 5 at this point) answered in the above question....5 bottles. I also offer her a water bottle with a splash of juice (8oz-h2o & 1.5oz juice) she usually drinks 5+oz of that a day as well. Sometimes she'll clear the bottle and want more, other days she drinks about half.
