I've been doing a little research and have read that among other things it can prevent m/c and help with m/s but I have also read that it can cause a miscarriage if used in the first trimester if you drink more than a cup a day (which I wouldnt).
In the end it said to ask your Dr. Which I'm going to but I was just curious if anyone is in their first trimester and drinking red rasberry leaf tea or if they know any other first trimester safe teas that help with morning sickness?
Re: Red rasberry leaf tea
Chamomile tea is not safe during the first tri and questionable in general for pregnancy. My doctor told me to stay clear, so please look into it.
Red raspberry is used to strengthen and tone the uterus and supposedly help uterine lining before ovulation. I took it while stimming for IVF this cycle and I think it helped. It will not induce labor, but is supposed to help with labor itself (stronger uterus = shorter labor or better contractions).
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
I've read/heard that chammomile is fine, and other places that it isn't. Tea is a conflicting subject during pregnancy either way and every doctor will tell you what they believe. I guess chammomile can be looked at the same as caffeine/coffee, deli meat, sushi, etc. My motto, as well as my obgyn's, is everything in moderation.
If there's anything you're uncomfortable with drinking/eating then definitely steer clear.

This. It doesnt cause labor. I drank it religiously during my third trimester and my uterus tightened up post DS nice and fast.
