Hi everyone!
I was reading some posts the other day, especially the one talking about getting the free car seat from their insurance if they signed up in the first tri for their free expectant mother program. If you are now in 2nd tri, It's still worth it to sign up.
Besides giving you check up phone calls, a hotline to call if you have questions, and information about your pregnancy; Some programs give you a free car seat, a 50.00 250.00 gift card, some give you free books, some give random gifts during each trimester, some also give you free home health aide service after you deliver. It depends on the plan and I think it's well worth the look.
Now, I had an extremely hard time trying to find out what the program was called under my state and insurance. So I have compiled a list. This is only for Blue Cross Blue Shield at the moment.I'm sorry, I'm only one person! =/
If you would like to add your insurances information, program name and what it entails, please feel free to respond.
I am trying to make it so every person has a resource when calling up their insurance company since I had to fight with mine because they had no idea what " new beginnings or special beginnings" was. My insurance offered it through blue cross blue shield / florida blue "Healthy addition".
This is going to be a long post so please do not camp;p/quote it. If there is erroneous information or missing information There is! Please reply with the correct information. Hopefully we can get this stickied.

Re: Prenatal / Expectant Mother Programs
WHY DOES MY STATE SUCK THOUGH?!
My state sucks balls though. Boo!
What state do you live in? I couldn't find them all so don't give up. Try calling them if you have BCBS. I just didn't know the search terms and my eyes were tired.

If you have Anthem- You should have the "future moms" program. So when you call them, they should be able to tell you what they offer and don't let them charge you for anything as these programs should be free with your insurance.

Ah! I just saw my state (Indiana) said it has a "depression" program. It helps expectant mothers who are prone to depression. I will call them in the morning. I have no freakin clue how this stuff works! Thanks!!!!
I actually do have BCBS. Who do I call slash google to find out?
Well, you could google your state and type in bcbs or if yours is say "Anthem - bcbs" type that in along with expectant mother or prenatal program.
If that doesn't work, try calling your bcbs representative on the back of your insurance card. Tell them you are an expecting mother and you heard they offer a program that provides information for having a healthy pregnancy and baby.If they should clueless ask to speak to an obstetric nurse. They might be able to clue you in to your program.
Also :Try looking at that list above and see if yours may be in the "other states" category down at the bottom. That might also help you.

Really California!??!! A text message program that's it?
Wow! This was really great of you to put together! I'm sure this will be a helpful resource for many.
I have Aetna- their program is called "Beginning Right". They gave me the Mayo Clinic's Guide to Pregnancy my first pregnancy (which was the BEST pregnancy book I read) and this time, they gave me a nice maternity pillow. They were awesome in helping me out with some issues I was having between my insurance company and my physicians office and really went above and beyond to clear up the issues.
For those of you who don't have BCBS or Aetna, you should be able to just call you insurance company and ask them if they have a maternity program.
Thanks again Charmed!
I think there is also a future moms program there. I had a hard time trying to find out some of the state. I could only find about half of them. It's best to call and see.
To everyone- If you don't see your state, just give them a call and see if they offer it. That way I can update the list of others.

Ok. Will do! Thanks again.
I have Cigna health insurance and live in MN. They also have a program called "Cigna Healthy Pregnancies, Healthy Babies Program." You can get more information or sign-up by calling 1.800.Cigna24 I do know successful participation is rewarded with a check after your baby is born, but I have yet to find how much it will be...cash is cash. They also have a 24hr nurse line and have sent me some informational "pregnancy" books and a journal for my own use.
i was just going to post the link to CIGNA Great beginnings programs. https://www.cignagreatbeginnings.com/pl/Cigna_OB/Index/Index.aspx
Thank you for posting this! I have Aetna and went online to try and sign up. I found the program but couldn't enroll. I will call them today and sign up. They didn't tell me about this when I called to check the benefits.
For anyone with insurance through BCBS through the Federal Govt, their program is also called Great Beginnings and their enrollment # is:
800 360 7654
*Thanks to charmed for putting all of this info together!
