Spoiling?

I'm not a fan of the CIO theory(and don't do it because LO is still tiny and needy, and that's ok!)... But I am trying to figure out when babies (our babies) will be "able" to become spoiled. Is it the 4 month mark, 6 months? I have heard several different opinions, and I am curious about yours...

TIA :)

(And no, I don't want to spoil my LO, except with hugs and love!)

Re: Spoiling?

  • good question -

I would think that is a matter of personal opinion. Since all kids are different and develop differently. I think that there are things I can do now to spoil my baby and I still do them LOL

I dont think you can spoil a baby. Especially this young they just need things. But i think wonder weeks says that between 14 and 19 weeks they start recognizing patterns. So the can probably start recognizing a routine and if you stray you could have issues.

+1. It's good to start getting into a routine but don't expect it to be rigid...right when you get used to something, babies change it up on you! I personally don't think you can 'spoil' a baby before 6 months, though.

  • Our child psychologist friends say you can't spoil a child under 24 months. They are very antiCIO.
