Natural Birth

Some natural birthing encouragement and information that I found useful :)

Hello, mamas! First of all, I wish you all the best and most blessed pregnancy experiences and births. As I have been preparing for my own planned natural childbirth this May, I have encountered a lot of questions, as any first-time mother will. And I am working with a wonderful group of midwives, but also love to research and discover paths through this journey on my own. On one such occurrence, I came across this website and thought I might share it with you all. I found all sorts of encouragement, information, and advice on here! I hope this helps you some. Below, I have posted a few of my favorite links, but there are oodles more information just awaiting your perusal. :)

  • First of all, thank you!  I am due in April, and my work schedule is so demanding that I haven't been able to start any sort of classes at all.  And that scares me being a FTM, I want to be prepared to handle my L&D med free and without proper education, I just don't feel like that's possible.  So I really appreciate you posting this up!  Second,  we spell our names the same!  I always get excited, because it isn't every day you meet another Stefanie with an 'F'!  All the luck to you and your baby!

  • Yea! So cool! And I'm glad that link was some help for you. A book I was recommended to read is called "The Thinking Woman's Guide to Birth" and I'm told it's THE book to get for natural childbirth. Congrats on your baby bump! I hope your birth experience is all you hope it will be and more. The most important thing I have gleaned from all I've read and heard is this: guard your thoughts and what you take in. Refuse to accept that birth is about pain and to be feared, but that it is a demonstration of your inherent strength as a woman and a powerful team effort between you, your body, and your baby. :)
