First Ultra Sound

Hi Everyone,

This is our second pregnancy. We have a 2 year old and are estactic to be having another. I'm at the same practice as the first time but different obgyn the first moved out of state. I have my first ultra sound appointment on Tuesday which will bring me to 10 weeks. With my daughter my first U/S was at 8 weeks. I know I should be bothered but is it normal to wait this long? Since my first ob left the practice isn't as busy so they had to cut hours but I assumed I would of had one on my first office visit this time 2 weeks ago. When did some if you have your first U/S?

    I had my first one yesterday at 12 weeks. With DS#1, I had one at 12 weeks because they couldn't find the heartbeat. If that hadn't happened it would have been at 20 weeks. With DS #2, I had one at 10 weeks for dating purposes. I think its completely normal.

    It's normal if you don't have a history of IF or loss. I do have a history of IF so I have several early u/s with my RE but my first OB u/s wasn't until 9+3 and they schedule them as far out as 11w.

    Me: 29, PCOS (anov), Hashimoto's Disease // DH: 30, normal SA
    3 Clomid, 1 Clomid/Menopur, 1 Menopur w/ TI (CX 4x's due to cysts) - All BFN
    1 Clomid/Menopur, 2 Menopur, 1 Follistim w/ IUI - All BFN
    RPL & Karyotype testing normal

    IUI #5 (12/1/12) --> Follistim + 1/3 hCG Trigger = BFP! EDD: 8/23/13
    Betas --> 61 (13dpo) // 156 (16 dpo) // 223 (18dpo) // 656 (21 dpo)
    U/S --> 5w0d - sac seen // 6w0d - hb detected // 7w0d - hb seen and heard, measuring 6w6d!
    8w6d - wiggly baby! // 9w3d - wiggly baby with fingers!

    Ultrasounds are not required. The only one they need to do is the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. There are plenty of ladies on this board that have/will not have one. This all varies by practice. I am 11 weeks and have not had one. Relax, you are still getting to see your baby which is more than some have gotten. Not trying to be snarky just telling the truth.

    My first ultra sound won't be until 16 weeks. I had normal pregnancies and I am not high risk and I knew the exact date of my LMP so they didn't have to do a dating ultra sound. I wish it would hurry!

    What I thought was my first ultrasound yesterday (at 8 weeks) was really 11 weeks.  I was further along than I thought.  It is nice to already be almost done w/1st Tri.  And bonus, I didn't have to give blood!
