How many follies did you get on your cycle? Which drug? What dose? Also what size is considered mature, I forget.
Lastly, what number of follies will RE allow you to go with before cancelling?
I know I am a ways off but just researching. My 1st and so far only injects cycle was Nov 2011 and I was hospitalized for OHSS. We are going way lower/slower this time to hopefully avoid this again.

Like I said below, I only really had 2 follicles that would possibly take. I did, however, have I think 7-8 follicles. I think he said if there were more than 3 of a good size he would cancel. We were trying to avoid multiples so he was watching really carefully.
I was on gonal f and then ovidrel.
I was on 125 units of Follistim the first month of injectibles. I overstimmed, had about 12 mature follicles and my Estrogen was over 2000. I had to cancel. I am pretty sure I had a mild case of OHSS.
Last month they lowered me to 100 units and I had 2 mature follicles. I was able to trigger and got a BFP which will sadly and in m/c.
My RE will let me trigger with 3. Anything over 16 is mature.

For the first 2 cycles, I was on Gonal-F and Pregnyl because those were what my insurance paid for. This last one I was on Gonal-F and Ovidrel since I'm now OOP with my meds. Most RE's will start you on the lowest dosage (37.5 for Gonal-F) to see how you handle it and then increase as necessary. For me, usually I'm on 75 for 4 days, 112.5 for 4 days and 150 for 4 days (and then sometime they put be back to 112.5 for a few days) before I trigger. The longest I've waited to trigger is CD19 (so 16 days of Gonal-F).
My RE considers anything over 16mm as mature, although they like to see the my e2 is also high enough (around 200 for each mature follie). I've never had more than 2 mature follies before triggering.

My RE was extremely conservative with me since I said I wouldn't want to reduce. He was triggering me early when the lead follies would get to 15-17, but those never worked for me.I only had success in the 18-23 range.
DS2 I had a 18mm & 18.5 mm= 1 baby
DC3 I had a 18mm & 19mm= 1 baby
I was always 75iu follisitim.
I have only done 2 injectable cycles so far...meds for a 3rd are sitting in my fridge right now
1st one I was on HMG-Lepori (I think that is generic Menopur.) My dose was 75 a day for 10 days. I got 2 mature follies and 1 baby
2nd time I was on Gonal F again 75 a day, this time I was on it for 11 days and had 2-3 mature follies. BFN.
On injectables I think 17mm-18mm is mature...up to 24 or so is great.
Since my triplets are from Clomid we have been very careful with injectables...3 follies is our max, but we and the RE prefer 2. Good luck!
