Secondary IF

New and ?'s

Hi! I'm 30 and my husband is 42. We had our beautiful daughter 2 years ago after trying for 9 cycles. We have been trying for baby #2 since June 2012. We are currently on our 10th cycle. My husband has 2 daughters from a previous marriage so I'm pretty sure its not him unless its his age. My question....at what point did you go to your doctor (OB or RE) to see what (if anything) is going wrong? I have been getting positive OPKs for past 5 months. I started temping this current cycle for secondary confirmation to the OPKs. We have not had any testing done yet.

Any thoughts?? Suggestions? Thanks in Advance!

Re: New and ?'s

  • I'm new here too!  I am going to be 39 in April.  The lovey ladies here informed me that the rule of thumb is under 35  if after a year of trying and still not pregnant go and see an RE.  If over 35 and not pregnant in 6 months of trying then go see the RE.

If you like and trust your Gyno it can't hurt to talk to him/her about your concerns.

    Good Luck in this journey.

  • Thank you! That's exactly what I was wondering

    Good luck to you

  • Agree that at your age you don't need to see Dr until 12 cycles. My SIL is an ob gyn. She said have sex every other day day 10 thru. 20. Also try pre seed.
