Intro...

I have been lurking for a while, but felt that it was time for me to introduce myself. My name is Erin. I have been on TTCAL and PgAL since 1/12. DH and I ttc for 2 years before we were successful (with some help -- details in siggy). Unfortunately we lost our first son at 19 weeks, due to reasons that are still unknown. I had a very rough recovery from that delivery, including a hemorrage and D&C 1 month later. It took us 4 cycles to concieve again.

Our rainbow was born on 1/4/13. I had been in prodromal labor for almost 2 weeks and was in complete denial that I was in labor. DH was working that night and was nervous that he was not home. I had my 39 week appointment the following morning at 10 and kept saying that I we would make the appointment and not to worry. I did not sleep at all that night due to severe back pain (that of was about 7-10 minutes apart --LOL). I was sent to L&D from my appointment since I was 4 cm. We walked the halls of L&D for a few hours and were shocked when the OB told us that I was 9 cm. Thank goodness she still allowed me to get an epi. Liam was born after and hour of pushing and a wonderful 3rd degree tear. He was a perfect 7 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches long.

We have spent the last few weeks getting the hang of things. He is nursing like a champ and gaining weight rapidly. He is kind enought to let us sleep about 4- 4.5 hours at a time each night. I am still nervous about having a newborn during the height of flu season, and we are have been hiding in the house most of the time. I wanted to thank you ladies, because lurking on this board has really given me a lot of insight and encouragement.
