Washing OS pockets question

Do you unsnap the rise each before throwing the diapers in the wash?

I was stuffing newborn pockets last night and realized they're hard to stuff if I snap them to the smallest setting first. Which got me thinking that maybe I needed to completely unsnap them before I wash them.

Thoughts?

  • I don't unsnap mine, either. You'll get used to stuffing them eventually. I try to kind of gather the dipe up like pantyhose, poke the insert far enough in that I can grab the end of it together with the closed end of the pocket, then pull. I'm not sure that explanation helps, but just play with stuffing them and you'll find your own tricks.

That's kind of what I've been doing. I'm just having a hard time getting the insert to lay flat in the middle. I may be too much of a perfectionist for pocket diapers. ;-)

  • I don't unsnap.  To stuff, I fold the insert in half, put my hand in the middle, push as far as I can into the diaper.  Then I work the half away from the pull forward to the end and flush with the diaper edge.  I grab cover and insert with the other hand at the edge and as I pull my stuffing hand out, I fan my fingers to spread the insert flat.
