I don't have to be the first VBAC anymore!! :-)

Just heard that the hospital that I'm delivering at had a successful VBAC this past week!!! I'm so excited because as far as my doctor knew I was going to be the first one in over 10 years there. My doctor is excited too, because she said now all the nurses are a little better with it and know more how to support the mom. :-) :-) I was willing to be the first one in a while but I was worried because my doc told me several nurses were nervous about VBAC's and some that have been tried there before the nurses didn't want to get into trouble so they pretty much ignored the patients until they could talk them into transferring to the hospital that is an hour away where we are "supposed" to have VBAC's. Hopefully they will all be more acceptive and encouraging now. :-)

Oh boy, you are a trooper.  I can't imagine adding all that extra baggage to an already stressful event.  But, like you said, at least you won't be the first.
