My Little Piggy!

There have been so many posts on here - how many ounces of breastmilk does your LO drink, etc.

My DS drinks a 7 ounce bottle.  Not drinks, guzzles and looks for more. He lets out quite a burp (on his own) and keeps it all down.

So I called the pediatrician's office thinking he is eating way to much. Their response is no worries, he just eats a lot!  Try increasing his solids to 3x per day (we currently do breakfast and dinner).

Today is day one of 3 meals per day!  We'll see how it goes!

Anyone else have a little guzzler?

btw - At his 4 month check in he was 15 lbs - so I'm guessing he's around 16.5 lbs now. He's not a chubby baby.

  • Anywhere from 6 to 8oz seems to be the average amount of oz to be given around this age for them. If your LO is not spitting up the milk after she eats then I wouldnt worry about it.

Also, Im not sure what the point is of feeding a 3rd time. Did the dr tell you it would fill your LO up more? My DS's pediatrician said solids at this age shouldnt replace a meal as they cant get full off of a couple of bites.

I do have a big boy but hes not really an eater. Hes been on 6oz for the past 2 months and we will be increasing to 7oz soon. No solids yet.
