Ice Skating?

Anyone tried ice skating with their little one yet?  Why or why not? Tips? Thoughts? Advice?

Well, no.  I hadn't even thought of it.  We'd have to go to a rink.  Also, I'm not so steady ith my own skating.  I fear it would be a tragicomedy of epic proportions.  Lol!

Not ice skating but we went sledding last weekend and he looooved it. DH is planning an ice fishing trip with Evan soon though so maybe ill just pack the skates!

Nope, we aren't big skaters so it's NBD to me.  I do want to try skiing next year though!

I would love to get hazel some of those skates with the double blades, but her feet are so freakishly tiny I know wont find any in her size. Hopefully next year. I know she will love it because shes a freaking champion on her roller skates.

I'd love to take DS, we just haven't gotten around to it. I can skate decently, but I haven't done so in several years, so I'm not too sure how well I'd manage with DS! There's a rink close to our house...maybe closer to spring when it's not too cold out!

I think the rink near us says 3, not sure they have skates small enough for littler ones.

I'll take her next year. I'm getting her rollerskates from the Easter Bunny this year.

My sister took my nephew when was about 2 and he had a blast. The rink had training skates and a thing that acted like a walker for him to hold onto. I say give it a shot, but don't be heartbroken if they're not into it.

I've never been ice skating in my life, so I hadn't even thought of it. I wouldn't mind taking him sometime when he's older, but he'll have to try to get the hang of it on his own, because I have no clue.
