Hewitt is just a name we picked off a list - Dale is my FIL's name.

Eh.  I don't love Hewitt, but that's because I had a boyfriend who dumped me on Valentines day and his last name was Huitt, pronounced the same way.

And Dale is just fine, but I'd keep it in the MN spot.

I prefer the spelling Hughitt more than Hewitt.  Regardless, the name reminds me too much of Hewlett-Packard.

I worked for a company called Hewitt...As a company name it is fine.  As  a person's name it is horrible.

I know a Hewitt, rather well. It's just okay, I'm indifferent probably because I've heard it for years. I can give you a million nicknames I've called him.

Because of HP, it sounds more like a corporation to me. I think Dale in the MN spot is great.

Neither name is my style. Dale is an old man name that I don't care for, so I would pair it with a different type of name. For example, my nephew's name is Matthew Dale and I think it sounds fine.
