Pregnant after 35

XP: Harmony Test

Hello!  I am an August 2013 Mom with a question I am hoping you can answer!

I have my NT ultrasound tomorrow morning and they will be drawing blood for a test called "harmony". When this baby is born, I will be 35 so my Dr offered it to me.  Has anyone had this? What kind of results were offered? Did your insurance cover it? TIA!!

Re: XP: Harmony Test

  • I had the Harmony test. It screens for trisomies 21, 18, and 13. My insurance covered it, but that doesn't mean yours will.

Integrated Genetics, a specialty testing group of Labcorp administers the test. Just google Labcorp Integrated genetics and go to the "for patients" tab on their website.  There's a contact number.... call and ask the codes that are used to bill for the Harmony test. Call your insurance and give them the numbers, they can check and see if you are covered or not.

  • With Materni21, which is essentially the same, the company has a cap on your out of pocket cost if your insurance won't cover it. I think its $250 or something like that.
