My 7 month old just starting to have what appears to look like acne on his face.they are red spots and when you get up close you can see little tiny bumps all over his face. Anyone else experiencing this? If so anything help to clear it up?
I recently started seeing this myself on DS. It's not too much, but small patches on his cheeks.... I assumed milk pimples but is that still possible at this age? I haven't tried anything since it's not terrible...but I am curious to see what others say!

I took my DS to the dermatologist because he has had acne since 2-weeks old, still has it but not as bad. I decided on a derm after my pedi suggested benzyl peroxide, which seemed crazy to me. The derm looked at his face under a magnifying glass with a light and it was acne, he also has mild eczema on other parts of his body, and said that they can have acne a long time. She said normally they don?t treat it but just like the pedi she recommended a mild benzyl peroxide wash, Neutrogena 3 percent I belive it is called Clear pore, put it on his face for 10 seconds and take it off.She suggested every other day.Since both suggested it I did try it I only do it when it gets bad because it makes me nervous but it does work.
Thanks for the info. Did she say when it typically clears up?
my pedi said it can last past a year but that it will eventually go away and I should not worry about scaring. Both said it looked like clogged pores and that sometimes babies have issues, more common with boys. Since he also had eczema the derm wants to see him again three months from when he last went so I will see what she says next month. I noticed yesterday he had some eczema patches on his face along with the acne poor guy I just hope it clears up soon. It does not seem to bother him. One thing I did notice and I am going to ask the doc when I cut milk out, just milk not other dairy, it got a little better and no eczema I just started drinking milk again and that is when the eczema showed up on the face I am starting to wonder if the two are connected but I really don't want to do an elimination diet if I don't have to.
Thankfully it will only last a year. I just stopped bf last month and slowly introduced formula. He's on all formula now so I wonder if that could be the cause. My son's bumps almost look like blackheads. I was hoping it wasn't that keratosis pilaris. Did you just go to a regular derm? Sorry for all the questions.
My LO started getting bumps/rash on his chin. The daycare provider thinks it is from old nipples on bottles. She says it happens all the time. Just ordered new nipples... hope it helps!
