feeding

I'm so confused with feeding dd. breast milk and formul at the same time has her soli at the same time has her solid meals Or are her bottles and her solid meals supposed to be 2 to 3 hours apart? I am feeding her three solid meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. she gets breastfed or get a bott she gets breastfed or get a bottle of formula every 3 and a half hours. merge he for merge for feedings starting with a starting with a bottle, then baby food. Her 4th feeding at night would be a liquid feeding before bed. What are you guys doing?

Re: feeding

  • When we started solids, we made sure that they weren't too close to when he was due for a bottle. We didn't want BLW to frustrate him if he was actually hungry. But by now, he's eating constantly, so he'll get nursed or a bottle still around the 3-4 hour mark like always, but his meals are at more normal meal times (breakfast, lunch and dinner), and in between those meals, he'll have snacks. They're becoming two very different entities. Sometimes he'll eat a huge dinner and be screaming to nurse 20 minutes later because he's due to nurse.

  • I'm feeding Pilar about an hour to an hour and a half after her first morning bottle.  I keep the bottle small, like four ounces.  I feed her lunch around noon.  For dinner she gets what we eat in small little pieces then we give her solids.  The pedi suggested that we move her to adult food that is soft or has been blended.  Pilar is a little older than many of the babies.  She'll be 10 months at the end of the week.

    btwn 8:30-9:30 bottle at DC

around noon: veggie and oatmeal at DC

    around 1: bottle at DC

btwn 5:30-7: meal at home: cereal, baby food, puffs, fruit, meat, cheese and usually a 3-4oz bottle

  • I lump it all together.

Wake up 6-6:30 6.5oz bottle followed immediately by a small breakfast (usually 2oz of jarred food and a few small pieces of cut up banana).

9:30 - 10:30 (depending on when she wakes up from nap) she just gets a 6oz bottle

12:30 - lunch (usually 2-4oz of some jarred food) followed immediately by 6oz bottle.

    3:30 - 6oz bottle

5:30 - dinner (usually 2-4oz of oatmeal mixed with jarred food) and maybe some puffs for dessert followed immediately by a 3oz bottle

6:30 - in bed and no MOTN feedings as she STTN till 6 - 6:30am..
