Kid-safe digital camera

Has anyone bought their kid a digital camera? I have seen several that are for kids 3 and up, but all the reviews I have read are not very good. We are taking a vacation around DS's 3rd birthday and I would love to get a kid's digital camera for him to bring along. He loves taking pictures, but I don't want him walking around with a regular camera that he can break.

we have the Fisher Price one and DD has fun with it.   The pictures don't come out the best, but she really likes having her own camera and I got it for free last year with another purchase at Toys R Us, so you can't go wrong with that!   She's using it now as I write this!

DD has the V-tech one. It doesn't take good enough pictures where you're going to print them out to keep, but DD loves it.

This and some of the features are just too complicated for a 3 year old.  I'm even struggling to figure this thing out.  It's not all that intuitive.   In a couple of years, I think we're just going to go straight for an older digital camera.  Maybe pick something up on ebay that's like 3mp or something.

We bough an adult camera it works great and he has figured out how to use it.  My grandpa who is 90 also got one for christmas, and loes it.  My sister was using them at work in a mine where the guys do not take care of them and they are holding up well to the abuse.

We gave DD our old point and shoot. (After I upgraded to a DSLR) She takes great pictures with it. Sure she doesn't know how to use all of the features, but that's fine with me. She feels like a big girl using it and the pictures aren't crap quality.
