I have used the Diva Cup and the Softcup. I like them both very much, and I would (and do) recommend them to friends. I used the Diva cup for a long time before DS, but I need to get the next size up now because it doesn't fit right any more.
On the other hand, the Softcup was always a little too big before DS, but now it fits great! I definitely prefer the Diva cup for ease of removal, though. With the Softcup, it always gets all over my hand, and that hardly ever happened with the Diva cup.
I've been looking at getting a Meluna cup to replace my too small diva cup. The only reason I haven't yet is because I keep hoping that I'm not going to need it.
I used a size 1 diva cup before DD was born and had been using a size 2 Lady Cup after she was born/before I got pregnant. I was really happy with both of them but probably had a little better success with the lady cup as far as leaks go.
You're more likely to be able to find the diva cup at a physical store, but I think the lady cup is a little cheaper. And it comes in cute colors.
Cups are sooooo much better than tampons!! You can go up to 12 hrs without emptying it, get VERY few leaks, and it's a lot more comfy on those last couple days of your period when the flow is light.
I ordered some talulah bean mama cloth liners recently... Then found out I was pregnant the next day. So I can't comment on how well they work.

I tried the instead softcups in the past, but they were an epic fail. I could never get them in place correctly, so it constantly felt like the thing was falling out of me.
I've heard a lot of good things about the divacup, but I haven't gotten around to trying that one out yet.

I started using a Diva Cup after DD was born. I *love* it and wish I switched years ago. I can wear it so much longer and I find that I'm constantly aware of tampons, but not the cup. Half the time I forget I have my period. I will never buy tampons again.
Very easy to use. It took me about 2 days to get used to it and feel comfortable 'trusting' it to work. I thought it would be much more complicated and unpleasant to deal with.
I agree with all of this! I love my menstrual cup and recommend it to anybody and everybody that will listen.
I've never used the Diva cup or the other ones PP mentioned. I use this one:
I use the Diva cup and I love, love, love it! It was one of those things I never thought I'd do, I thought it was weird and gross, but here I am! :
It may be a little weird, but it isn't gross. I used pads before because I was always really uncomfortable with tampons, especially when I was a teen.
There is a bit of a learning curve, but I think by the end of the first cycle you can get it. I seriously love it and usually forget I'm on my period.
Oh, and as far as recommending it... I would definitely recommend it, but probably only if they brought the subject up. Only DH knows I use one and he doesn't even want to know what it is, haha! I told him I'd like to get something having to do with my period and it'd save money and be easier... He didn't want to know the specifics. I told him a little anyway.
And it's really easier to use and less mess than other options, in my opinion. Mostly I empty it in the shower. I've only ever had to empty it in a public place once, and that was my first cycle on it and poor timing on my part. It wasn't that bad, though. I've been using it since June, so about 7 cycles.
Is it strange that aside from in this board, I have never ever heard of menstrual cups?
Me neither. I just saw it for the first time today on facebook too.

Ha ha, no, I found out about them on TB. Although, they are discussed almost daily on the EFF board and often discussed on the CD board because they are an Eco friendly alternative to mama cloth. I suppose, if I followed crunchy blogs before joining TB I would have heard about them through the blogs first, but my crunchiness started after I found TB. No correlation though...

I hadn't heard of them before TB either. I have since seen them mentioned on the FB of our local CD store and I've seen them in the store.
I have a Lunette cup and I love it! I would do some research on the dfferent brands to see which one you like the best. They all work the same, just one might work better than another! Good luck!
