Sex Drive

11 1/2 weeks pregnant for the first time, and before I was pregnant I wanted sex all the time, and now I don't want it at all! Anyone else experience this? Will I get my sex drive back? My husband has been so supportive and seriously considerate, but I feel bad for not being turned on at all right now. Will this go away?

    I think for me it was second tri last time before I felt that way.  I had a sexy dream the other night. But while I'm awake I'm not feeling it. (and can't stay awake past 8:30pm anyway).

    I'm a second time mom and yes, sadly to say this is all normal.  My sex drive came back a little in 2nd tri but didn't come back full force, actually more like overdrive until about 4 wks after delivery.  So, good news is it will come back, bad news is it might take a little longer than you like.

    STM and with my first I wanted sex all the time but with my second I never wanted to have sex and no that desire never came back the entire pregnancy. I tried to avoid him like the plague.

    I was going to say I read somewhere about how it could be impacted by what sex you are carrying. For example, if you are carrying a boy you have more testosterone = higher sex drive, whereas with a girl more estrogen = lower sex drive. I am sure it is not true for all and every pregnancy is different. But I thought it was curious when amarissa responded as from her picture it looks like she has had one of each!

    I have really had sex drive at all. At night I am always too nauseous to even think about sex. Sometimes if my husband wants it in the morning before he leaves for work, and I haven't got out of bed yet (so I am not feeling sick yet), I will give in.

    So, yeah. Its normal! I don't really remember with my other two how I felt. It was too long ago. Haha

    Funny you say that because 1st baby was a boy and second was a girl. LOL!

    That is funny but with DD I didn't have a sex drive in the beginning but once I was about half way through second tri I had it back and then some so IDK how true it is.  

    That's definitely why I said I am sure it wouldn't be true for all pregnancies, I can see some truth in it, but I don't know how you would prove this other than a questionaire and I am sure everyone's sex drive is different.

    Mine went down when I was pregnant with DD and has decreased this time too, but it is different than last time.  Now, I don't want is as often, but when I want it, I want it NOW!  It is kind of funny.  I will text DH if he is downstairs and tell him to hightail it upstairs!!

    Whats a sex drive? I havent seen one of those since I got pregnant...and I miss it...

    Ladies, this is very encouraging. Thank you for sharing! I will be sure to note what sex I'm having to see if that makes a difference :)
