Amitriptyline and Pregnancy

Hi All -- I'm not pregnant but would have hoped to have been by now.  I've run into some serious health issues, which have caused me to need to be on the antidepressant amitriptyline.  (A tricyclic antidepressant)  I need to remain stable for 6-12 months on this new antidepressant, and then it's been recommended that I see a specialist (Ob/gyn) in Los Angeles (I live in the midwest) in order to determine the best way to go about being pregnant safely.  

I'll see the doctor and get their professional opinion, but was hoping I might hear anyone else's story who may have experienced this.  FWIW, my doctor in my small town is useless on the topic, I asked, he admitted he was useless on the topic... sigh, to LA we go.
