We will be doing our first fresh cycle, my past DE cycles I have used frozen DE. I was wondering the following:
How long did your donor stim for?
Which meds and how much did they take?
How much info did your clinic give you while she was stimming?
How many eggs did you get?
Re: Fresh DE cycles
Hi!
- My donor started Stims on November 25th and ET was on December 6th, so 12 days
- She took the following drugs, which I paid for at $2993.31:
- I got a call for her ultrasounds - I had to ask for details, but they told me how many follicles there were, and how many they expected to produce mature eggs
- We got 19 eggs, 14 mature, 11 fertilized. We had 1 5-day blast transferred which resulted in a BFP, and we have 3 frosties (2 were slam-dunks, and the third was frozen on day 6)
We feel we had a great result! We went with a fresh dedicated donor (vs. shared) because we wanted some frozen in case it didn't work, and for potential siblings. We will donate any we don't use for sure, so we didn't mind if we ended up with ones we couldn't use.
Our clinic shows the donor's history, and in the 2 cycles before us, she had put out 16-17 eggs, one was for a frozen egg cycle, and the other was a shared cycle which resulted in two BFPs, and a total of 6 either transferred for frozen. We liked her stats and that she had done this before with good results.
Hope that helps!

Thanks! What did she trigger with? It's amazing to me how many eggs they ladies produce. As someone who is AMA and would get 7...it is just crazy to me. My donor I am using used very little meds her last cycle and got 20 eggs. Hoping for the same results for us.
3 failed IVF with OE and 2 failed frozen DE cycles
Last fresh hail mary DE cycle starting Feb 2013
PAIF/SAIF always welcome
Hi reb. Our donor stimmed 9 days. She was on Follistim only, but I don't know the dosage. We got 10 eggs, nine of which were mature. By day 5, we had 5 embies. We transferred one and none of the rest made it to freeze.
My clinic shared no information at all with us while she was stimming. At one point near the end, I asked how the donor was doing and the nurse only said, "pretty good." I asked why we couldn't learn more and the nurse said they've had one too many patients end up being extremely angry when less than the expected number of eggs was retrieved.
Our clinic said their sweet spot for donor retrieval is 10-12 eggs. The RE doesn't prefer more because he doesn't want to overstim the donor and/or wind up the poor quality eggs. That said, my donor was definitely on the low end in terms of the number retrieved. The quality couldn't have been stellar as none made it to freeze. At ET, my RE said the transferred blast was "good." He doesn't give out embryo grades.
ETA -- She also was on Ganirelix and triggered with 10,000 units hCG. Actually, we both triggered the same day with hCG, which I understand is fairly uncommon.
Baby boy Henry born 2015.
Expecting our capstone baby (boy) early March 2018.
I think the Ganirelix is a trigger, but i'm not sure as I never did my own IVF (we went straight to DE for age and low follicles/crappy AMH). They should be willing to walk you through her protocol - the good news is she has done this before, so they know which drugs work. A friend of mine had her egg donor not respond, and had to pay for a whole new batch of drugs mid-cycle! $Ouch$. Anyhow, best of luck - yeah some of them put out crazy #'s of eggs - but that ~15 give or take 5 seem to produce the best results from the stats at my clinic.
Good luck!! FX for you!

I don't think I realized this is your first fresh cycle!
1. Donor stimmed for 14 nights
2. She was on the antagonist with follistim, menopur, cetrotide, and a lupron trigger. She was on 600iu.
3. I got updates at each of her monitoring appts. I was told the aprox amount of follies and that they were measuring between x and x.
4. I got 25 mature and 1 immature.
Tons and tons luck sweets!!!!
