How many times was your profile shown before you were successfully matched?
Did you ever go through a failed match prior to your placement?
If you went through an agency, how many families were typically in the waiting pool with you on average?
Just curious. Thanks!
Re: Those of you who have had a successful placement...
We were shown 4 times. No, we never had a failed match.
About 80 families were waiting.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
No idea. At least 3 or 4, but after that I stopped being diligent about asking
No. We declined to have our profile shown once, but that's it
150. They averaged about 150 placements and about 150 waiting families when we went through the process to adopt DD
I haven't had a placement yet but my agency's shares it's statistics---
So in their most recent data they had something like 9 failed match's and 55 placements.
It looks like they have under 50 families waiting and the average wait is between 8-9 months from homestudy approval.
We were shown 5 times before we were matched.
No failed matches.
There were about 30 waiting families.

I have the exact numbers somewhere but I think we were shown about 12 times in the 6 months we were in the pool.
We didn't have a "failed" match per se, but we met with one expectant mom several times while she was also meeting with another family (we all knew about the other family/meetings), and then she finally decided on the other family instead of us. It felt like a failed match but I guess we never officially matched in the first place!
We never knew how many families were in the pool but there were only about 8 or 10 other families on the website. There were probably another 8 or 10 that chose not to be on the website?
We were shown one other time before our match.
We had no failed matches.
I think when we were waiting there were about 10-12 couples waiting also.
We had 15 families waiting at a time but only maybe 2 to 5 in the AA program with us.
