Ok, so I know that another woman just posted about her 8 month old not STTN, but, since mine is b/c of a sick baby, decided to post anyway...2 weeks ago we went to Florida and that totally threw off LO's schedule, not to mention the "crib" they gave us for the room was really a pnp and DS was not happy about it so in order for any of us to get some sleep we put him in bed with us.
When we got back we tried to settle back into our routine as best as possible and did for the most part for four days until DS got sick, on Thursday night he was up once and went back down after a bottle. Friday he was up four times mostly just wanting his nook to be put back in. Saturday he slept through the night, but last night was awful...
He puked up his last two bottles before bed (due to a huge crying fit and he is also teething--extra saliva can irritate the baby's stomach causing vomiting) then he was up all the time, DH gave him a bottle around 12, but DS would only sleep if someone was holding him from about 12 AM until 3 then he slept for 25 minutes before he wanted another bottle and then he finally cried it out and slept until about 8:20. So I only slept from about 4:30 to 8:20
Can someone please tell me that between the trip to Florida and being sick my LO will go back to STTN once he is better?...I can't function like this...
If it does continue for a long time...DS may be an only child, FOREVER!
TIA,
A very tired Mama!
Re: EX: Sick baby and not STTN
Last week DD was waking up every hour due to a throat and ear infection. She wasn't eating, sleeping...just crying! It was terrible. She was sleeping with us when things got bad so we could all get a couple hours rest.
Now that she is half way done her antibiotics she is slowly going back to normal. She is taking her naps again and willingly eating bottles. And last night slept in her crib and only woke up twice!
I think once they feel better and more comfy at home they find their rhythm again. I just kept doing our routine and if she didn't like it I didn't push it and she slowly fell back into it.
Im sorry you are so tired!!! It gets better once they feel better! Hang in there GL
When DS was sleeping horribly like this, he had an ear infection. Like pp said, once he had a few nights of antibiotics, he went back to his regular sleeping.
