another how long to bf?

DS1 weaned at one year exactly, and thats what I was shooting for with DS2.  But I got to thinking about it, and October is cold and flu season, so I'm thinking it might be better to continue a little longer.  I'm wondering how much breastmik DS would be drinking by then.  If I could pump 2x per day and get about 12-14 oz, could ds just have this in a sippy?  or does he need more than that?

im just curious how you fit extended bfing in when your toddler eats real food and real meals.  Also, what age do babies start on sippy cups.  I cant remember any of this.

You could certainly put the bm in cups. We introduced cups when our daughter was between 69 mos old last time. You could also just bf at night discontinue pumping at that time to start the weaning process.

I'm going to nurse as long as I have milk and we are both enjoying it...so six months, one year, two years, ect...before it was 12 / 18 months but now I've been doing more reading and thinking 36 months would be ideal for her little body so we will see.  I think that you'd be fine with a sippy a couple times a day, really any amount you choose to give is a bonus for your LO.  

My milk dried up at seven months with DS and I really feel bad about it, but I was a FTM with no BF support.  I have already seen what BM has done for DD when her and DS got sick.  They were exposed to the same germs and he got a really bad cough and a moderately high fever...she got the sniffles and a little cough!   

As for a sippy I think you can introduce it whenever.  I think we did around a year with DS.  I just ordered the sippy tops for DDs bottles to see if she would rather drink it that way since she hates the nipples we have.

This is my plan exactly...put it in the cup...put it over cereal, mix it with stuff. I think any bit they can get is better than nothing to pass along some antibodies

I have also been thinking about the same thing.  With DS1 we started sippy cups around 6 months, but he really didn't get the hang of them until closer to 9-10 months.  After 1 year, he was drinking WCM with each meal.  I think you could just substitue BM instead.  So figure around 4-6oz of BM at each meal.

Once ds1 was a year I just nursed him before bed and when he woke up in the morning. He drop night nurse at 19 months about 21 months for morning.
