Pregnant after 35

Not knowing is driving me nuts!

I hate not knowing how things are going with my little poppy seed. I was the same way when I was pregnant with my son and I drove my DH crazy!  I promised him that I would not freak out over the littlest of things this time around (made him take me to the ER with first pregnancy because I had a "twinge" at 6 weeks), but I am secretly going nuts!  I am analyzing every little thing...my boobs hurt today, my boobs don't hurt today, I'm nauseous today, I'm not nauseous today.  I consider myself to be a mildly intelligent person but for some reason pregnancy turns me into this crazy person. Ok, I feel better now! :)

  • Easier said than done, but try to relax. Most of this is out of your control. I have experienced the best outcome DS and the worst 2 losses. Worrying only adds stress.

  • I've heard of "mommy brain"; does "pregnancy brain" also exist?   lol Stick out tongue

I was so sad last week to learn that my next appointment is not an ultrasound.  I was really looking forward to seeing the kids again!  There is just so much change happening right now; it's very exciting to get to see.

  • It is normal for your symptoms to vary from one day to the next--try not to let it get to you! (Easier said than done, I know...) Hang in there and just take good care of yourself (diet, sleep, etc.), and hopefully nature will take care of the rest.

  • Oh I know that feeling!  My first pregnancy ended in a loss, so both this pregnancy and my last one (which was successful) were fraught with nerves and anxiety at the beginning.  As PPs said, this is really out of your control though.  That's actually kind of a comforting thought - at least it always was for me.  Also, you're only 4 weeks, and for most women the "symptoms" don't really kick in until 6-8 weeks.  Even then, they can vary from day to day.  Chances are everything is fine though.  I hope you can have a chance to relax and enjoy the fact that you're pregnant right now (easier said than done, I know).  Keep us posted!
