I was worried I would not get pregnant very easily when I heard about the relationship between low thyroid and pregnancy. I got pregnany by accident our first month of marriage and developed a sub chorionic hem. with that baby. Ended up m/c around 9 weeks. When I read an article about pregnancy issues and tsh levels, I remembered a doc saying I was barely out of normal at 5.56 in 2011. We just started trying in November and when I read this article I thought there was no way I would get pregnany (even though I am in the best shape or my life and very healthy). I got in to do bloodwork and found out the next day I was pregnant. Now, I am waiting for blood work to come back on Monday but my PCP let me start throid replacement meds at 50 mg until we see my latest numbers. I am curious who else has experience with this and how things turned out. I was shocked to learn I was pregnant after all the stress. Now, I am just hoping my numbers are not too high and if they are, I can bring them down enough to sustain this pregnancy. I have always been more slender and had great energy levels so never would have guessed my thyroid was sublicinal for hypo issues.

Never in our arms, forever in our hearts
I've known I had thyroid issues since 2007, but was told it wasn't anything serious. I knew I was slightly out of normal (was never told my actual numbers), but that I didn't need to take anything at that point. I was also told I had a multinodular goiter on my thyroid, so I've had multiple u/s's looking into that. Finally this year (after 2 m/c's) my primary looked into it again. This time I was put on medication and referred to an endocrinologist. My endo finally diagnosed me with hypothyroidism. We spent a few months changing my dosage and checking my TSH level. I was told during that time I was not allowed to TTC. I was also told the u/s showed I have Hashimoto's disease. Endo told me there is a link between Hashimoto's and spontaneous m/c.
This was all very frustrating for me to learn. I told both my primary and my GYN at the time (Feb. 2011) that I would be TTC within the year. I wish one of them decided to look into my thyroid issues then. Who knows what could have happened if they did?
Sorry for the long ramble. Let me know how you make out with your results. You can always feel free to PM me too if you have any questions!

How disappointing. I am so sorry they dragged their feet. I got my results back today based on me being my own advocate and I am at a 5 which is too high. It used to be considered normal range so everyone ignored it except my alternative physician. He told me long ago to start watching stress so it didn't aggravate my thyroid further. I am only 29 and in otherwise great shape so that never really clicked.
My PCP amped up the thyroid meds to 100 mcg today but it is kind of late in the game to try to get my levels down so praying for quick absorption. Strangely my potassium levels came back as critically high which has never happened. I am still waiting to see why that is the case and what they want to do about it. My last physical was great so not sure why my numbers are so screwy not that I am pregnant!
Best wishes to you and to those reading these threads, get your thyroid levels checked and stay on top of any questions you have. Some doctors have no clue how harmful high TSH levels are. If you test over 2.5, ask them about it or get a second opinion.
