Has anyone had a laparoscopy and/or hysteroscopy?
My OBGYN ruled out my husband as the reason we have not been able to concieve. All of my bloodwork came back normal. I ovulated as I should have on three rounds of Clomid (although I'm certain that I ovulate regularly without the Clomid, it was just something my OBGYN wanted to try). The last test my OBGYN ran was a HSG test, which was inconclusive. They couldn't get the dye to flow like it should have because my cervix is apparently very high. After that test, the OBGYN referred me to an RE.
He immediately called for a laparoscopy and hysterocopy. He wants to make sure that I don't have any scar tissue from my C-section and that my tubes aren't blocked. If there is tissue or blockage, he will fix it during the surgery.
I am really nervous about this. Has anyone had one and could share their experience? Thanks!
Re: Laparoscopy hysteroscopy
I had this when ttc#1. I responded to clomid, but was unsuccessful. My tubes were clear in the HSG, but my OB had seen some uterine polyps in the monitoring u/s for the clomid. He also suspected that I had endo (pain, mid cycle spotting) so he wanted to do a LAP at the same time as the HSC. He removed the polyps and found "a touch of" endo which he removed.
I won't lie, the recovery from the surgery was awful, but I'm really bad with anesthesia. My surgery was in the morning, DH planned to take off a half day, but it took so long for me to come out of recovery that it was late in the afternoon before I was discharged and we went home.
In the end it was worth it though, I got pregnant the 2nd cycle post surgery w/o meds. Technically it was our first try though since I had to abstain until 6wks post surgery. I would do it over again.
GL!
Thanks for all of the input!
They are going with the Lap because my cervix isn't in a good place. That's why my HSG test was inconclusive, they couldn't get the dye to go in correctly.
