Has anyone tried the belly support band for right after their c section? Does it really help?

I am on the fence about this too and wondering what others think.  Also, any recs for bands would be awesome!

i started using the "belly bandit" about a week after my section?this was my 2nd unplanned section and the recovery was so much better than my first..with which i did not use any kind of support band.. 

 

i would just suggest getting 2 sizes with the belly bandit though..as i only used the medium for about 2 weeks before i was using the small..

Yup. I used it more as a support for my back and it was great.

I had a generic one from amazon and it really hurt- i stopped using it after a day or two.

I wore mine day 2 until about 5 weeks pp.
Made a world of difference! So worth it!

I never used one.  The only time I needed anything for extra support was when I was sleeping at night, so I just wedged a flat pillow under my stomach and slept on my side.  I think I stopped using that about 2 weeks pp.  If we went anywhere I pushed the stroller so I could lean on it for support.  FWIW, I was hugely pregnant and was discharged from the hospital looking like I was about 9 months (not 5 or 6 like so many others report).  A friend of mine used a large ACE bandage.
