Preemie mom problems kind of a repost

I know I have posted about this before, so sorry for the repost but it just helps to post on a board with people who understand.
So DH and I are on our way to our nieces first bday, which is 2 hours away, hence why I am bumping. We left dd at home with my parents because of all the germs. It's his brothers daughter. My anxiety is growing the closer we are getting, I just don't want to deal with the eye rolls and smart a comments. Yes we both would love to have our daughter with us, obviously, I cried dropping her off this morning which I haven't done in months. I am getting flash backs of going to family things while dd was in the NICU. But I as her mother will keep her as germ free as I possibly can. Plus I am totally pmsing which is not in anyone's favor, lol!! Thanks for listening just wanted to vent to other moms who get it! Hope you are having a great weekend with your LO's!

I totally understand what you are going through.  I'm sorry that you may have to deal with the eye rolls and smart comments.  I would just reply with "Our (insert specialist sounding MD) told us that it would be best for LO to avoid large family events, especially with children, due to the large flu and RSV outbreak.  Hopefully next year she can get clearance to come!"

Let us know how it all turns out, and hopefully it won't be as stressful as you think it might be.  GL! (((hugs)))

So sorry you're going through this. I totally understand what your going through. We were told we ruined Christmas bc we didn't go bc my inlaws were sick. Just remember that you're doing the right thing and what's best for your lo. Your job is to keep your lo healthy and safe, not to keep your family happy. I think it is nice of you and your DH to go at all. I hope your day turns out ok.

You are doing the best thing for her and you are her mother and get to decide what is best.  Everyone use to laugh at me and told me I had my son in bubble for his first two years.  I didn't care and told them I had spend enough time with him in the hospital.  Keep doing what you are doing.  It sounds like you are a great mom.

Thanks ladies! It went ok, it was a quick visit which made it easier and the fact that there were about 10 kids running/crawling around hacking with runny noses putting toys in their mouths and then so nicely sharing those toys, made me realize that one i may be borderline Germaphobe now and two thank goodness we left dd at home!
