I just have to take a moment to brag on the kiddos.
Last night, my two nieces came over 6 and 4, and they made a horrible royal mess of SD's room. They picked it all uo, of course, but not to any extent of what I would call putting toys away. Things were stuffed under the bed, shoved in the closet, toys were crammed into clothing dresser drawers, under blankets on the bed... Oh my dear Lord. I don't know how two such clean people as BIL and his wife can have two kids who have no idea how to put things back where they came from. Thesengirls have always been like this. I love them to death, and we are their God parents. But jeez! They don't even play with anything they pull out. It's like their goal os to pull out everything they can as fast as they can and then break ot if possible.
Anywho, after my mild heart attack was stopped and ecerything restores to minor order with DS's help, since SD was at her Granny's and not here, I thought about how thankful I am that our children have learned organization early on. DS was responsible for picking up his toys as early as was possible, and now he likes them put in the proper place. SD likes everything put in it place, and when she notices things like her shoes are getting junky, she pulls them out and organizes them on her own. Both of them are always very proud of their work when theu are done. And so am I. My house is by no means spotless or tupperware organized I wish!, but I am so thankful these rugrats have some manner of organization skills.
Brag time over. Anyone else care to share their brags here?
