Sporatic vomiting and food allergies

Hello Everyone! I have a problem and I thought maybe someone here can help me solve it. I have a 15 month old son who has been sporadically vomiting and had diarrhea for the past week. He has only thrown up a couple times every few days and only in the middle of the night. He doesn't have a fever and still has an appetite. My pedi seems to think it is a food allergy. We are currently keeping a food journal for 2 weeks, and then take it from there. Has anyone have any experiences similar to this? I'm sorry for the typos, I'm on my phone. TIA:
